Review previous [BC]2 meetings:

[BC]2 Basel Computational Biology Conferenceis an annual scientific symposium, bringing together like minded individuals and companies interested in the field of computational biology. [BC]2 was initiated in 2003 by Torsten Schwede and Manuel Peitsch, and has been organized annually by Torsten Schwede (SIB & Biozentrum University of Basel). Since 2008, [BC]2 is the annual scientific meeting of the SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics. Previous events:

  • [2003] "Life Sciences Meet IT"
  • [2004] "From Information to Simulation"
  • [2005] "Biological Systems In Silico"
  • [2006] "Comparative Genomics"
  • [2007] "From Euler to Computational Biology" in association with USGEB
  • [2008] "Computational Structural Biology"
  • [2009] "Molecular Evolution"
  • [2010] "Regulation & Control in Biological Systems"

Music of Life

The main goal of the conference is to provide a platform for informal communication and fruitful discussion between speakers and participants.

One great example of a fruitful creative collaboration which originated at the first [BC]2 in 2003 is the "Music of Life" project by Denis Noble and Christoph Denoth.
