[BC]² not only offers great science but also allows you to meet your peers and have fun with exciting social activities!

Social events and activities are an essential part of [BC]² allowing us to bring together participants from diverse research fields and horizons. Whether you would like to continue a scientific discussion in a relaxed atmosphere, network or simply enjoy some food and drinks with your colleagues from the other side of the world - our social activities will allow for all of it.

Opening lecture and welcome dinner

The Opening Lecture on Monday evening will be followed by a Welcome Dinner & party to kick off the 20 years anniversary of the [BC]² Basel Computational Biology Conference.

All conference participants are invited to the Welcome Dinner, which takes place at the trendy WERK 8 restaurant, an old engine-turbine manufactory. The location is easily reachable from the congress center with Tram 2. Finger food will be served, prepared with seasonal, regional and sustainable products.

Part of the Welcome Dinner is gratefully financed by the Basel-City Canton.

Adapted for people with reduced mobility.
Stadtcasino Basel – world-class acoustics & outstanding architecture, 17:45 - 19:00
Meeting point: Barfüsserplatz, in front of the casino, at 17:30.
Street Art Tour – the city as a canvas, 18:00 - 19:30 [FULLY BOOKED]
Meeting point: in front of "Artstübli", Steinentorberg 28, at 17:45.
Stories of Basel's Old Town, 18:00 - 19:30
Meeting point at the Tinguely fountains, in front of the theatre, at 17:45.
